Hi all!

Well, here's a quick update!

I missed the deadline for the contest but I'm continuing to paint my army anyway. Here's a rough test 'cause there's lost of cleaning to do and all the shading and hignlights to do too. I used GW Hawk Turquoise. A very nice colour but it's a pain in the buttplate to paint! It has a poor coverage once thinned.

The arms will be turquoise as well with black shoulders and fingers. I sill have to think about the weapon colours... There will also be some white details (like stripes) added to the mini here and there. Well, either white or a very light grey.

This little fella will be the CGL for my Fire Support Cadre. A good old Command Jäger which will be teamed with 2 Spits, 1 Support Cobra and one Anolis R equiped with a MRF (an addition to this Unit because it's not part of the Sourthern Starter Kit.)

Hi all!

Dream Pod 9 is currently running a contest which, if I can make the deadline, would give me a nice small army. I'm going to use this opportunity to paint the content of the South Starter Army. Only one mini won't be used from this kit at the moment. It'll be painted in the near future. To complete the contest rules requirements of an 800 TV* army list, I've added an Iguana, an Anolis R and a Command Naga built out of the Naga kit. The army list looks as followed:

Except for few bits, 95% of the list is ready to be primed, which should be done soon. While the primer will dry, I'll be able to mix the colours I'll use and to start the bases. Hi all!

Well, just a quick post to mention that I haven't forgotten to update my blog. It's just that I don't have much to show 'cause I've been painting and stripping my minis. I'm still trying to find the shade I want for the turquoise I use on my MILICIA Gears. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some turquoise to try to paint!

Hi all!

Well, here's the start of the building and painting of the starter army box sets for the game Heavy Gear Blitz!. Each box set allows you to build a 'General Purpose Squad/Cadre' and a 'Fire Support Squad/Cadre', a nice way to start collecting an army for this great game. They are all available through Dream Pod 9 online store

South Starter Army Box Set (DP9-9022,DP9-9028,L&LQS)

North Starter Army Box Set (DP9-9021,DP9-9027,L&LQS)

Peace River Starter Army Box Set (DP9-9020,DP9-9026,L&LQS)

Now, I'll first start by building and painting the three 'General Purpose (GP) Squads/Cadres'. Those are the backbone of most army on Terra Nova. And with only one squad, you can already start playing the game, which is great.

So far, what I have done is preparing the Southern GP Cadre and one Hunter and one Warrior from the Northern GP Squads and the PRDF GP Squad. The rest of those squads will follow later on, I just wanted to try some test schemes first.

So, here's a quick shot of the primed minis:

From left to right, you have:

a Warrior armed with a Rapid Firing Bazooka
a Hunter armed with a Snub Cannon and Heavy Panzerfausts
a Jäger armed with a Medium Assault Cannon
a Jäger armed with a Medium Assault Cannon
a Jäger armed with a Light Bazooka
a Jäger armed with a Light Assault Cannon
a Jäger armed with a Light Assault Cannon

It's been sooooo long!

Hi all!

Well yeah, I'm still alive. Real life kept me busy, away from my workdesk... well that and the lack of kick in the buttplate. But I've got the 1/200 Jovian Chronicles Pathfinder out of its resting place and I should start working on it quite soon as I'm missing the hobby.

As for my Heavy Gear demo squads and that extra-detailed Black Mamba, that has been put aside for a while. I'll first paint a test mini for my Southern MILICIA scheme then I'll start working again on those squads and other minis.

Hi all!

Yeah, I know that it's been a while now since I posted something. The worst part is that I don't have any excuses! But, I'm slowly working on five Southern Gears for my MILICIA demo army. I don't have any pictures yet but I'll try to get some ASAP.

Also, I'll soon start a display mini on a plinth which will be a "extra-detailed" Razor Fang Black Mamba (a Southern Gear variant). So stay tuned! More to come!

"31 days" contest - 1/200 Jovian Chronicles Pathfinder Garage Kit - Part 2

Now, I still need to remove flashes and mold lines but I could resist trying to pose the figure... which turns out to be a nightmare! >.< Even if I used lost of bluetac, the parts a too heavy for it. But I was able to quickly take those pics before it started falling apart!

The idea is that the pilot is shooting at a Syreen which is coming from above. I'm not sure I'll have the Pathfinder standing on some wreck or a pile of crates... I think it'll look better if the exo-armour is in a "floating" position, shooting and about to dodge incoming fire from the Syreen. One thing for sure, this baby will require some heavy pinning.

PS: I've got some comments on the "John Travolta" pose and I'm actually thinking of calling the diorama "Staying Alive!" :)

Hi!

I've joined a contest on the FichtenFoo Forum which consist of building, painting and basing a kit on 31 days... failing that, you end up on the Wall of Shame!

So, I've joined the contest after a week has passed and I plan to complete the 1/200 Pathfinder in 3 weeks! I'll show progress in this thread. So far, all I did was giving the pieces a Castrol Superclean bath! And now, that's what awaits me:

I also have the 1/200 Syreen that will be built later but I'm thinking of having both on display in some sort of diorama. I'm still thinking on how I'll do this but that's the plan. Each will have it's own base but both bases, when placed next to each other, will create the diorama. I'm thinking of having the Syreen coming through a hull breach to scan the ship wreck for any threats and will end up facing a pirate Pathfinder that was looking for abandoned precious goods.

So, if you'll excuse me, I have a pirate to build!
